Your Questions Answered

What can I expect from my first session?

Your first 1-2-1 session is an opportunity to introduce you to the full Pilates equipment. We will discuss your goals, health and injury history and discuss how Pilates can compliment your daily life and activities. Following this conversation, we’ll look at your movement and perform a series of movement assessments to help us gauge the best exercises for you moving forward.

Over the following weeks, we will develop your movement vocabulary on the equipment and combine your studio equipment sessions with home exercises to give you the best possible Pilates experience.

How long is a session?

Private appointments can be booked for 45 or 55 minute slots.

Mat, Reformer and Equipment classes are 55 minutes.

Workshops and Specialist group class times may vary.

How do I book?

Simply visit our booking page. You can book a single class by clicking on the class, or purchase a block of credits by visiting the membership heading on the booking page.

How do I pay?

Payments must be made in advance of your sessions. You can pay via the booking system app (Download GloFox and search for The Bridge Pilates Studio), or visit our booking page here on the website and select the memberships heading.

Can I attend group sessions?

Yes. At the Bridge Pilates Studio, group sessions are available for a maximum of five people on the equipment, or 10 in a mat based class.

Private group sessions can be booked at the cost of £75 a session which can be split between the members of the group.

What do I wear?

Please wear clothing that is comfortable to move in with some stretch such as leggings or jogging bottoms and a fitted top. You can either have bare feet or wear socks. We would recommend socks with grip on the bottom. These can be purchased at the studio. Please avoid wearing clothing with zips or jewellery which can snag or damage our equipment.

Do I need to bring any equipment?

No additional equipment is essential, however, you may wish to purchase some small equipment which can be used in the classes and at home. Equipment can be purchased via the studio.

How often should I attend classes?

The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends that we exercise a minimum of three times a week. We would recommend a weekly class for maintaining a level of fitness. For improving physical fitness or strength, or recovery from injury, we would recommend attending more than one session a week; perhaps a combination of the equipment and mat based sessions.
